In March, the government will index pensions by 20%, which will cover all categories defined by state insurance. The Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal announced this at the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers.
"In 2023, pensions for Ukrainians will be increased again. As early as this March, the government will index pensions by 20%. Indexation will cover all categories defined in the law "On mandatory state pension insurance," Shmyhal said.
The indexation of payments will affect more than 10 million Ukrainians. In addition, all old-age pension supplements will be retained this year. Pensioners over the age of 80 will continue to receive a monthly supplement of UAH 500. For pensioners aged 75-80, this is an additional payment of up to UAH 400. per month, and for pensioners aged 70-75, such an additional payment is up to UAH 300.
In general, this year the state plans to spend more than UAH 700 billion on pension provision.
Earlier, the government identified the introduction of mandatory pension accumulation as one of the priorities in 2023, because for many years the country has had a problem with filling the Pension Fund.
