As a result of constant Russian attacks in Ukraine, about half of Ukrenergo substations and almost 20 TPP power units were damaged.
This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers.
He noted that today the Russian occupiers again launched a massive missile attack on Ukraine's energy infrastructure.
"Zaporizhzhya suffered one of the largest air attacks since the beginning of the war, Kharkiv was also under a large-scale attack. In the morning, the attack continued and affected the whole of Ukraine. We have damage to high-voltage infrastructure and generation in the western, central and eastern regions," said the prime minister.
According to him, almost 20 power units of thermal power plants remain damaged due to constant Russian shelling.
"If we add to this the fact of the occupation of part of our energy facilities, then Ukraine temporarily lost 44% of nuclear generation, 75% of TPP capacity, and 33% of block CHP plants. Every second Ukrenergo substation was attacked in four months," Shmyhal said.
At the same time, despite the Russian terror, the absolute majority of Ukrainians remain with heat, water and electricity. Meanwhile, repairs are underway, there are enough resources to complete the winter, generators and energy equipment are arriving from partners.
It should be noted that during today's attack, the Russians hit energy facilities in the eastern, western and southern regions. The most difficult situation with light has developed in the Kharkiv region.
So, the Russians launched 71 cruise missiles and 7 drones during a massive attack on Ukraine. Air defense forces destroyed 61 missiles and 5 drones.
