Lithuanian Defense Minister Arvydas Anushauskas said that as part of the announced aid package from Lithuania, Ukraine will receive 36 anti-aircraft guns that will help fight the Shaheds.
He told about this at a briefing with the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov.
The ministers noted that at the meeting they discussed further assistance that Lithuania could provide to Ukraine in accordance with its needs - from weapons to military training.
"We are handing over 36 anti-aircraft installations that will help to successfully fight drones... We have already trained 15 instructors, and they have already returned to Ukraine," said Arvydas Anushauskas.
He did not mention the name of the systems at the briefing, but apparently it refers to the Swedish L-70 anti-aircraft guns that Vilnius announced in the latest aid package, without specifying the exact number.
Oleksiy Reznikov noted that the training of instructors, rather than operators, is a more practical approach, as these people will be able to transfer knowledge to a larger number of military personnel directly in Ukraine upon their return.
We will remind that the other day it was reported that the Ukrainian military completed a two-week training course in Lithuania, during which they were taught how to use the L70.
During 2023, Lithuania will help train about 1,600 Ukrainian soldiers, in particular, the organization of courses for the training of low-level commanders is being considered.
