For the first time since the full-scale invasion of Russia: Zelenskyi is visiting Great Britain

The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi will arrive in Great Britain today to meet with the Prime Minister of the country Rishi Sunak and the Ukrainian military, the prime minister's office said, Sky News reports.

His visit to Britain will be the first since the full-scale Russian invasion.

Zelenskyi and Sunak will reportedly discuss Britain's support for Ukraine, starting with an immediate increase in the military equipment that London is sending to Kyiv.

"The Prime Minister intends to offer support to Great Britain to train Ukrainian military personnel, including fighter pilots, so that they can fly NATO-standard fighter jets," a source in the Prime Minister's Office said.

He will also propose to start an immediate training program for marines, the TV channel writes.

According to Sunak himself, Zelenskyi's visit is evidence of unbreakable friendship between Great Britain and Ukraine.

"Since 2014, the UK has been providing vital training to Ukrainian forces, enabling them to defend their country, defend their sovereignty and fight for their territory... I am proud that today we will extend this training from soldiers to marines and fighter pilots, providing Ukraine with armed forces capable of protecting its interests in the future. It also emphasizes our commitment not only to the provision of military equipment in the short term, but also our long-term commitment to stand side by side with Ukraine for many years to come," the country's prime minister said.

On December 21, Zelenskyi went on an official visit to the United States, his first visit abroad since the full-scale invasion of Russia.
