Saakashvili's party announced a boycott of the parliament due to the condition of the ex-president in prison

Deputies of the opposition party "United National Movement", the founder of which was Mikheil Saakashvili, announced a boycott of parliamentary activities demanding the release of the former president from prison.

Party chairman Levan Khabeishvili announced this at a briefing, "Georgia Online" writes.

"National Movement" stops parliamentary activity... We will have activities every day. We will come to everyone who kills the European future of the country. Remember, your calm, carefree life is over, you will have problems everywhere. The "National Movement" is no longer going to participate in any discussions and enter into any games with the "Georgian Dream", Khabeishvili said.

He added: partners should be well aware that the party is forced to do so because of the risk to Saakashvili's health and life.

On February 6, the city court of Tbilisi did not satisfy the request of the lawyers of the imprisoned ex-president of Georgia and citizen of Ukraine Saakashvili for early release due to his health.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine is disappointed by the decision of the Tbilisi City Court to reject the request of Saakashvili's defense for a postponement or exemption from punishment due to his serious health condition.
