Issues to be discussed at the Ukraine-EU summit on February 3 in Kyiv include the military situation, President Volodymyr Zelenskyi's peace plan and support for Ukraine from partners.
The Ambassador of the European Union to Ukraine, Matti Maasikas, told journalists about this on Monday, Ukrinform reports.
"First of all, there is a signal of solidarity with Ukraine. Among the issues that will be discussed are, of course, the military situation, the peace plan of President Zelenskyі, which has received support in the EU. We see delays in providing assistance to Ukraine both in the military, economic, financial, humanitarian and energy spheres, etc.," said the diplomat.
According to Maasikas, Brussels will also discuss Ukraine's progress in working on EU recommendations related to granting the status of a candidate for EU membership.
"That's why the range of issues is quite large," - stated the head of the EU representation in Ukraine.
He also noted that the speed of any integration process depends primarily on the actions of the candidate, in particular on how quickly EU legislation will be adopted and implemented, and the assessment of Ukraine's progress in implementation continues.
Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal stated in an interview with Politico about an ambitious plan to acquire membership in the EU within two years.
The head of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Kyrylo Budanov believes that Ukraine should systematically weaken Russia, for which it needs to actively integrate into the EU and NATO.
