The temporary charge d'affaires of Ukraine in Georgia, Andriy Kasyanov, was summoned to the Georgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs for clarification regarding his interview with "European Truth".
This is reported by "Echo of the Caucasus".
In an interview, the Ukrainian diplomat noted that if direct flights between Georgia and Russia are resumed and there is a threat to the life and safety of Ukrainians in the country, Kyiv does not exclude the possibility of their evacuation.
Kasyanov also said that the Georgian authorities have started moving in the opposite direction from the European Union and NATO, although they continue to officially declare adherence to the European path.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia noted that other aspects of Georgian-Ukrainian relations will not be discussed at the meeting with Kasyanov.
It should be noted that the Ukrainian diplomat was criticized by members of the ruling party "Georgian Dream". Kasyanov urged them to familiarize themselves with the original interview.
"Georgian politicians who criticize me should read the entire text, its original version, and not take words out of context. Please read all official statements in the original," said Kasyanov.
