President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi imposed sanctions against former People's Deputy Vadym Novinskyi. Metropolitan Pavlo, the vicar of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, and a number of other clerics were also sanctioned.

On January 24, Zelenskyі signed a decree on the implementation of NSDC sanctions. Sanctions are valid for five years. According to them, the assets and funds of the participants are blocked, it is forbidden to use state lands and other assets, to withdraw capital from Ukraine, etc.
The following were added to the sanctions list:
ex-People's Deputy Vadym Novinsky;
vicar of the Holy Dormition Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra of the UOC, Metropolitan Pavlo of Vyshgorod and Chornobyl;
the so-called "Metropolitan of Simferopol and Crimea of the Russian Orthodox Church" Shvets Rostyslav;
the so-called "Bishop of Bakhchisarai, Vicar of the Simferopol Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church" Chernyshov Kostyantyn;
the so-called "Bishop of Dzhankoy and Rozdollensky of the Russian Orthodox Church, managing the Dzhankoy eparchy" Oleksandr Ovsyannikov;
the so-called "Archbishop of Rovenkiv and Sverdlovsk of the Russian Orthodox Church" Oleksandr Taranov;
Metropolitan Oleg Ivanov of Izyum and Kupyan of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church;
Oleksiy Maslennikov, Bishop of Rome and Buryn of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church;
the so-called "Bishop of Koktebelsky of the Russian Orthodox Church, Vicar of the Feodosia Diocese" Opanasenko Vyacheslav;
head of the Feodosia diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Metropolitan Platon.
