President Volodymyr Zelenskyi called on allies to convene a new meeting in the Ramstein format to discuss sending long-range missiles and F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine.

The call of the Ukrainian president was made during an address to the Contact Group on Defense of Ukraine at the American Ramstein base in Germany.

According to Zelenskyi, providing Ukraine with long-range missiles and fighter jets will be a step forward compared to the aid that the allies are providing now.

We will remind you that we previously wrote that the Netherlands is ready to consider the transfer of F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine. If Ukraine receives a corresponding request.

In addition, the Pentagon noted that the United States recognizes Ukraine's need for long-range missiles, and Washington needs to think about how to overcome this challenge.

It is worth noting that the next - the ninth meeting of the Contact Group on the Defense of Ukraine in the "Ramstein" format may take place closer to the anniversary of Russia's full-scale attack on Ukraine (February 24).
