Leopard 2 tanks were not included in Finland's largest aid package for Ukraine, decisions on them will be made separately.
As Reuters reports, this was said by the special adviser to the Finnish Defense Minister, Miika Punnonen.
"From what I can tell, this package does not include Leopard 2 tanks... It includes heavy weapons and ammunition," he said in a comment to the agency.
According to him, the decision to provide Ukraine with "Leopards", of which Finland has about 200, will be made separately based on the results of coordination with allies at the Ramstein air base, where today a new meeting of representatives of about 50 countries on military support of Ukraine is taking place.
We will remind, on January 20, Finland announced the allocation of a record aid package for Ukraine for 400 million euros, which will include heavy weapons. This is more than double the combined cost of previous packages. Details are withheld for logistical security.
The provision of such large-scale aid became possible thanks to an agreement with Sweden that, if necessary, it would help Finland compensate for what was transferred to Ukraine.
