The countries of the European Union can get rid of their dependence on Russian energy resources by the end of the year. An exception may be Hungary "for political reasons".
This was stated by the head of EU diplomacy, Josep Borrell, during a speech at the International University in Spain.
"All EU countries, with the possible exception of Hungary, will completely get rid of Russian energy resources by the end of this year," Borrell said.
It will be recalled that earlier in Germany it was announced that they had completely diversified their energy infrastructure and were no longer dependent on Russian energy carriers.
In addition, it became known earlier that the countries of the European Union reduced the supply of Russian oil by 90% last year.
