"How dare he": the USA and Israel sharply criticized Lavrov for his words about Russians and the Holocaust

The USA condemns the words of Russian Minister Sergey Lavrov, who compared the international isolation of the Russian Federation to the killing of Jews during the Holocaust. In turn, Israel called his words unacceptable.

This was reported by "Voice of America" and the Israeli publication ynet.co.il.

The reaction of the White House

"How dare he (Lavrov - ed.) compare anything with the Holocaust! Anything, not to mention the war they unleashed!" - said the spokesman of the National Security Council, John Kirby.

He emphasized that the words of the Russian minister are so absurd that "it is not worth reacting to." Kirby also emphasized that since Russia invaded Ukraine, first in 2014, then, on a much larger scale, in early 2022, claims that the Russians "are the victims" look absolutely ridiculous.

"Today, and from the very beginning, Putin is trying to portray the situation as something that threatens Motherland Russia. This is a lie," Kirby said.

He also called Lavrov's statement "delusional" and "absurd."

 How Israel responded

The Israeli side was also quick to respond. The Israeli Foreign Ministry strongly condemned Lavrov's statement and accused him of distorting history.

"Any comparison or juxtaposition of current events with Hitler's plan of the final solution to the extermination of the Jewish people distorts the historical truth, desecrates the memory of the dead and those who survived, and must be resolutely rejected," the Israeli Foreign Ministry said.

We will remind you that yesterday the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry Serhiy Lavrov issued a cynical statement, he compared the Russians to the Jews of the Holocaust, and he compared the aid to Ukrainians from the US and its allies to Hitler.

Let us add that the Ukrainian side has already responded to Lavrov's words. Thus, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the cynical statement of Russian Minister Sergei Lavrov, in which he compared the Russians to the Jews of the Holocaust, and the actions of the United States and its allies to Hitler. Posing as a "victim" will not help him avoid punishment.

The spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Oleg Nikolenko writes about this on the Facebook page.

"The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation compared the Russians, who are waging a war of aggression, with millions of Jews killed by the Nazis during the Holocaust. It turns out that it is not Russian rockets that are shooting residential buildings in Ukraine, but the West formed a coalition to solve the "Russian question". We strongly condemn the shameful Serhiy Lavrov's statement, which will tarnish the memory of millions of victims of the Holocaust," said Nikolenko.

He also emphasized that the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dmytro Kuleba, had already drawn attention to the deep-rooted anti-Semitism of Russian elites, as modern Russia is full of hatred for other peoples.

"We welcome the quick reaction of the Jewish Congress of Europe. We call on the Israeli authorities and Jewish organizations in the world to react to another statement by Lavrov. At the Nuremberg Tribunal, Foreign Minister Ribbentrop denied his participation in the crimes of the Nazis, but this did not help him avoid punishment. Just as Lavrov did not will avoid punishment by passing himself and Russia off as a victim," Nikolenko concluded.
