The UN reacted to the tragedy in Brovary, where the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs was killed

The United Nations expresses its sincere condolences to the families of those killed and injured in the plane crash that occurred in Brovary, Kyiv region. The corresponding statement was made by the permanent coordinator of the UN system in Ukraine, Denise Brown.

 "I am extremely saddened by the tragic death of the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, his first deputy Yevgeny Yenin and State Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Yuriy Lubkovich. This morning, other government officials and local residents, including children, were also killed and injured in Brovary near Kyiv. On behalf of the United Nations, I express my deepest condolences to the families of the victims, the government and citizens of Ukraine," the statement reads.

 On January 18, a helicopter of the State Emergency Service crashed near a kindergarten and a residential building in Brovary. On board was the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs as part of an operational group of 6 people, as well as 3 crew members. So far, 17 people have died. The State Emergency Service reports that 4 children are among the victims.
