Almost half of the members of the European Commission will meet with members of the Ukrainian government in Kyiv on February 2, a day before the Ukraine-EU summit.
This was reported by the press secretary of the European Commission, Dana Spinant, to the AFP agency on Thursday.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyі will meet with the Presidents of the European Council and the European Commission, Charles Michel and Ursula von der Leyen, on February 3 to discuss financial and military support for Ukraine in the fight against the Russian invasion.
European Commission spokeswoman Dana Spinant told the agency that "about 15 commissioners" out of 27 may visit Kyiv to participate in the meeting, confirming a Politico publication.
According to her, the meeting will be attended by commissioners who take care of issues related to Ukraine, such as "financial issues, issues of EU membership or energy."
According to the spokesman, the list of commissioners has not yet been finalized.
She added that this visit demonstrates "the scale of our work with Ukraine" and testifies to the EU's support for the country.
As you know, the Ukraine-EU summit will be held in Kyiv on February 3.
In January, Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba discussed preparations for the summit with the head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrell.
