The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that media reports about Ukraine's alleged request not to include Belarus in the latest EU sanctions package are untrue. The representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Oleg Nikolenko wrote about this on his Facebook page.
According to Nikolenko, a number of personal (the Lukashenko regime, the military command, propagandists, 25 state bodies and companies of the Belarusian military industry, in particular the Ministry of Defense and the State Security Committee, as well as 8 Belarusian companies) and sectoral sanctions have been imposed on Belarus for supporting the aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine. sanctions (the central bank and four other Belarusian banks, a ban on supplies of dual purpose goods, services, deposits, euros, fertilizers, as well as a ban on cargo operators).
"At the same time, we are aware of the discussion between the member states of the European Union on the issue of further synchronization of the sanctions imposed on the Russian Federation. At the same time, according to our information, there is no consensus within the European Union yet. Ukraine and partners are now actively working to fill the tenth EU sanctions package as meaningfully as possible. the adoption of which is long overdue," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted.
Earlier, the mass media reported that one of the reasons why the EU did not punish Belarus on an equal footing with the Russian Federation in the latest sanctions packages is the request of Ukraine itself.
