Ukraine has decided on a new ambassador to Georgia, he will start work in February

Volodymyr Lukyanov will be the new ambassador of Ukraine to Georgia - he will start his diplomatic service at the beginning of February.

"Almost all the procedures have already been completed, and Volodymyr Lukyanov will join the diplomatic service in Tbilisi from the beginning of February," the message reads.

Lukyanov currently works at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and heads the financial and administrative department. This will be his first diplomatic mission.

"Formula" contacted Lukyanov for comments, but he refrained from communicating with the media.

Relations between Kyiv and Tbilisi remain tense after the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine - due to the refusal of the Georgian authorities to impose sanctions against Russia and support Ukraine with the supply of weapons.
