In all corners of Ukraine, people should know that they can count on Germany's solidarity and support, said German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbock during her visit to Kharkiv.

As reported on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany, Berbok called Kharkiv "a symbol of the absolute madness of Russia's aggressive war in Ukraine and the endless suffering that people, especially here in the east of the country, face every day."

"At the invitation of my Ukrainian colleague and friend Dmytro Kuleba, I want to get an idea of today's situation here in Kharkiv and, first of all, to listen to the residents who are fighting the war of this bitter cold winter... In all corners of Ukraine, from Kharkiv to Kherson and "In Kyiv, people need to know that they can count on our solidarity and support. This includes the winter aid we provided. Generators and transformers, fuel and blankets are now saving lives. And this includes further arms deliveries," she said.

The German Foreign Minister also stressed the importance of "not losing sight of Ukraine's place in our European family, even in this military winter."

"Ukrainians fight every day for the right to live independently. They see their future in Europe, in the EU. That is why I would also like to talk about the progress achieved in the membership process. As a federal government, we want to make specific proposals to Ukraine to achieve progress in strengthening sovereignty law, independent institutions and the fight against corruption, as well as in bringing it into line with EU standards," she said.
