Armenia has declared the impracticality of conducting CSTO (Collective Security Treaty Organization) exercises on its territory this year. Prime Minister of the country Nikol Pashinyan stated this at a press conference.

"The Minister of Defense of Armenia (Suren Papikyan - ed.) has already informed the Joint Staff of the CSTO that in this situation we consider it inappropriate to conduct CSTO exercises (on the territory of Armenia - ed.), and they will not take place this year," he said he.

Russia previously announced that Russian forces will take part in CSTO military exercises in Armenia this year.

It should be noted that at the end of November, the Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan at the CSTO summit in Yerevan refused to sign the draft declaration of the CSTO Collective Security Council and the document on joint measures to provide assistance to Armenia due to the rejection of several points.
