By the beginning of 2023, Ukraine rose to 15th place in the ranking of the world's most powerful armies, overtaking Iran, Israel, Germany and other countries. This is evidenced by the data of the international company Global Firepower.
The global firepower ranking uses more than 60 separate factors to determine the PowerIndex for each country, with categories ranging from the number of military units and financial status to logistical capabilities and geography.
The lower the PowerIndex, the higher the country is ranked.
In total, 145 states participate in the review.
PowerIndex rating in Ukraine is 0.2516.
The USA leads the list with a PowerIndex of 0.0712. They are followed by Russia with a PowerIndex of 0.0714 and China with a PowerIndex of 0.0722.
India is in fourth place with a PowerIndex of 0.1025. Great Britain closes the top five most powerful armies with a PowerIndex of 0.1435.
