At any cost, Ukraine must regain control over the Zaporizhzhуа nuclear power plant captured by the Russians. It is likely that the Ukrainian military will do it. This is reported by Bloomberg.
The head of Energoatom Petro Kotin stated that a more likely scenario than the creation of a safe zone around the ZNPP is the return of the plant to the control of the Ukrainian military.
He noted that the idea of the IAEA to create a security perimeter around the station failed.
"We don't think it's real. It's a new year, and the zone hasn't been created yet," Kotin emphasized.
According to him, if the Armed Forces manage to break through Russian positions and capture Melitopol, located more than 100 kilometers south of the nuclear plant, "the only option for the occupiers is to leave it."
"We hope for the Ukrainian Armed Forces," stressed the head of Energoatom.
