During the 10 months of the war, Ukraine managed to unite the European Union around itself in a joint struggle against Russia. This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyi in his annual message to the Verkhovna Rada.
"We helped the European Union acquire a real subjectivity. We helped Europe to feel that it is not a few championships with teams of different levels, but one strong team that, together with the whole free world, is fighting for victory. It was Ukraine that united the European Union. It turned out that it is possible ", - he said. Zelenskyi.
According to him, during 10 months of this year, Ukraine helped the West to return to the global arena and to feel how much the West prevails.
"No one in the West is afraid of Russia anymore and will never be afraid of Russia. Now Europe is defending itself. Europe is overcoming crises. And this is despite the colossal resources that Russia threw at breaking our continent. Everything that Russia tried to do against Europe was not worked. Every Russian step was a mistake," Zelenskyi said.
The President also reminded that for the first time some European countries have revised the concept of neutrality and oppose aggression together with Ukraine.
"For the first time in history, the European Union is helping to defend against such large-scale aggression. For the first time, a number of EU countries have changed their legislation and political rules and are now providing armed support to our state," he said.
