The head of the Kremlin, Vladimir Putin, and his entourage can try to save their miserable lives only if they admit defeat in the war as soon as possible and withdraw their occupiers from the territory of Ukraine. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskiy stated this in an interview with The Economist.

"The sooner the war ends - and if Russia admits that starting the war was a tragic mistake, the longer the Russian president will save his life and the lives of his entourage," Zelenskyiy said.

According to the president of Ukraine, there is no doubt that Putin will lose, and our soldiers will be able to reach the borders of 1991. At the same time, if this does not happen, Russia will eventually resort to military conflict again.

Zelenskiy also noted that "we need to look at the real picture, when the whole world first of all shows not just support, but diplomatically, economically, through sanctions and isolation, it shows that aggression must be paid for - go to the borders and then pay."

The president also added that only Putin can end the war and start a diplomatic way to resolve the conflict.

"If he withdraws now to the borders of 1991, then a possible path of diplomacy will begin. This is who can transfer the war from a military path to a diplomatic one. Only he can do it," Zelenskiy said.
