Shmyhal: This year, the UN provided over $4.5 billion in humanitarian aid to Ukraine

This year, the United Nations provided over 4.5 billion dollars in humanitarian aid to Ukraine. Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal announced this at a briefing today.

"This year, the UN sent more than 4.5 billion dollars to provide humanitarian aid to the population of Ukraine, which suffered as a result of the aggression of the Russian Federation, as well as to Ukrainians who left for other countries," said the Prime Minister.

Shmyhal also said that there are already agreements on the deployment of additional areas of assistance. Providing assistance to internally displaced persons, a program to restore housing damaged by military actions, providing rubber aid in de-occupied territories, and evacuating the civilian population from places of active hostilities remain priorities.

In particular, the head of government emphasized the need to support the restoration of the energy infrastructure, because 12 million Ukrainians are in conditions of partial or complete lack of electricity.
