The energy ministers of the EU countries did not agree to the introduction of the maximum price of Russian gas. The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Hungary, Peter Sijarto, announced this on Facebook.
"There are many disputes at the Energy Council, at the plenary meeting it was not possible to reach an agreement, so the continuation is in a bilateral format. The Minister of Industry of the Czech Republic, Josef Sikelá, is presiding, and I can only tell him that the gas ceiling is a bad idea," Sijarto wrote.
The minister added that his country considers such restrictions "the wrong response to the energy crisis in Europe." A possible innovation could allegedly threaten the security of Hungary's energy supply.
