In all the countries of the North Atlantic Alliance, there is a shortage of weapons, which, in particular, is connected with Russia's war against Ukraine. This was stated by Julianna Smith, the post ambassador of the US to NATO, in an interview with the Center for Strategic and International Studies.
She reminded that NATO has created its own initiative, which coordinates efforts on the development and procurement of weapons and consists of a group of national arms directors of all 30 member states of the Alliance.
They are in direct contact with the military industry in order to make joint purchases.
"That's why these efforts are focused on stockpiling (weapons) across the NATO alliance. For a country like Estonia, which has provided enormous security assistance to Ukraine, it's facing a real shortfall, and they're not alone. We're seeing that in to the entire Alliance," Smith said.
