The Greek authorities have frozen the property and financial assets in the country of the vice-president of the European Parliament, Eva Kylie, and persons related to her.

 Ekathimerini writes about it.

The relevant decision was issued on Monday by the head of the Greek Anti-Money Laundering Authority, Charalambos Vourliotis.

Asset freezing measures should be implemented by financial institutions and relevant government agencies.

Kylie and three others were charged in Belgium amid a police investigation into alleged corruption linked to Qatar.

It will be recalled that searches and arrests were carried out in Brussels and its surroundings on December 9 as part of an investigation into the activities of a "criminal organization, corruption and money laundering". In particular, law enforcement officers seized approximately 600,000 euros in cash, mobile phones and computer equipment.

Subsequently, the mass media, citing law enforcement sources, reported that one of the vice-presidents of the European Parliament, Eva Kylie, was arrested as part of the investigation. On Sunday, four people involved in the case, including Kylie, were taken into custody.
