The head of the "Empathy" center, Mariam Jishkariani, published the conclusions of the commission's forensic medical examination regarding the state of health of the ex-president of Georgia, Mykhailo Saakashvili. The examination was conducted by ten Georgian and six foreign specialists.

It is reported that Saakashvili was found to have more than 20 diagnoses, ten of which are the main ones, which, according to experts, are incompatible with imprisonment.

Experts note that Saakashvili was practically healthy before his arrest. Now he has neuropsychological and gastroenterological problems, disorders of the locomotor system, vision problems, high temperature of unknown etymology, anorexia, rapid weight loss, pain in muscles, joints and bones. Experts suggest that the stretching of the muscles may be related to infectious processes or intoxication, since the examination of the hair showed an increased content of bismuth, barium and mercury in the body.

"These toxic substances are dangerous because they can cause not only physical, but also sometimes mental disorders," the report said.

Experts believe that Saakashvili cannot be in the Tbilisi "Vivamedi" clinic or in places of deprivation of liberty, since it is not possible to conduct a complete toxicological examination in these institutions.

"Timely diagnosis of poisonous substances, including chemical compounds and radioactive substances, is necessary, otherwise, taking into account the probability of intoxication, coma and death should be expected," said the statement based on the results of the examination.

Experts believe that Saakashvili should be sent for treatment to a multidisciplinary university clinic in the USA or one of the EU countries.

They also point to the "traumatic stress experience in the penitentiary system", evaluating it as causing severe physical and mental suffering and, therefore, as torture.
