The deficit in the energy system increased to 27% on Monday, emergency shutdowns are applied throughout Ukraine - "Ukrenergo"

The capacity deficit in the Ukrainian power system increased to 27% on Monday morning, compared to 20% on Sunday morning, reports NEC "Ukrenergo".

"As a result of the rapid growth of the power deficit, emergency shutdowns are applied throughout Ukraine. The reason for the increase in the power deficit was the emergency shutdowns of units at several power plants. At the same time, consumption continues to grow due to worsening weather conditions," the message states.

"Ukrenergo" notes that after eliminating the causes of emergency shutdowns, the units will return to work, which will reduce the deficit in the power system and reduce the volume of consumer restrictions.

At the same time, controlled emergency shutdowns make it possible to balance the power system and prevent emergency situations in networks.

"We would like to remind you that the general deficit in the energy system is the result of already seven waves of Russian missile attacks on the energy infrastructure. The scale and complexity of the damage is very large. Repairs are ongoing around the clock," the company summarized.
