"Gazprom" manipulates the facts in order to limit the volume of gas supplies to the EU - OGTSU

The Russian monopolist Gazprom grossly manipulates the facts to justify its decision to further limit gas supplies to European countries. This is stated in the statement of the "GTS Operator of Ukraine".

It is emphasized that the GTS operator remains a reliable partner of Moldova.

"All volumes that were accepted at the point of entry from the Russian Federation "Suja", in particular for further transportation to Moldovan consumers, were transferred at the points of exit from Ukraine to Moldova "Oleksiivka" and "Grebenyki" in full. This is confirmed by all the necessary documents, which signed with related operators, one of which is Gazprom itself, the statement says.

At the same time, from the beginning of September 2022, after many years of work, Moldova introduced a virtual reverse at the points of connection with Ukraine. Since the end of September, the transportation of natural gas from Moldova to Ukraine through the connection point "Grebenika" has been carried out in the form of a virtual reverse (this is one of the most progressive commercial methods of the European gas market, which also helps to reduce the negative impact of gas transportation on the environment).

The GTS operator notes that by threatening to reduce the volume of transportation to Moldova, Gazprom is trying to deprive the country of the opportunity to use Ukrainian gas transportation systems and underground gas storages and block the virtual reverse tool, thereby increasing dependence on Russian gas at the beginning of the heating season.

"This is not the first time that Russia has resorted to using gas as a tool of political pressure. This is a gross manipulation of facts to justify its decision to further limit the volume of gas supplies to European countries. The introduction of typical European business rules for work at interstate connection points is deliberately interpreted by Gazprom as a violation "contractual obligations, obviously, for political, not commercial purposes", - emphasized the director of interaction with state bodies and international organizations, Olga Bielkova.
