The obverse of the coin shows a symbolic stylized fountain with paradise trees and lines from the collection "Garden of Divine Songs". There is also the inscription "Ukraine" and the year of coinage is indicated.
The reverse of the 20-hryvnia coin depicts a metaphorical artistic composition with a young man playing the flute and himself sitting under a cherry tree. The words belonging to Hryhoriy Skovoroda are engraved on the edge of the coin: "The world was fishing for me, but I didn't catch it," reports TodayUa.
