Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang called the nuclear threats from Russia "irresponsible" during the summit of the Association of East Asian Nations in Cambodia. This was reported by a high-ranking US official, Reuters writes.

"He (Li Keqiang - ed.) made a clear emphasis on sovereignty, the irresponsibility of nuclear threats, the need to ensure that nuclear weapons are not used as some suggest," the official said on condition of anonymity.

As noted, during the summit, Li Keqiang "spoke quite extensively about China's policy towards Ukraine."

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, China's ties with Russia remain "reliable", despite international criticism of the two countries' relations.
