Russian President Vladimir Putin will not travel to Indonesia for the G20 summit next week. This is reported by the Bloomberg agency with reference to its sources.
"The Kremlin seeks to protect the president from potential high-level tensions over his invasion of Ukraine. Putting an end to months of waiting, Putin's decision avoids a potential confrontation with other world leaders, including US President Joe Biden, who called the Russian president a "war criminal." The Kremlin also risked that European leaders would shun Putin at the November 15-16 summit on the Indonesian island of Bali," the newspaper reports.
One of the agency's sources reported that instead of the Russian president, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will go to Indonesia.
