The next step is to bring the issue to the next session of the city council

Electronic voting took place on the "Socially Active Citizen" platform from September 20 to October 20. Until now, user profiles have been verified.

The majority of Odesa residents who voted - 3,914 - supported the idea of dismantling the monument from Kateryninska Square. Although 1,014 of these votes were blocked, this option still won first place among all the proposed ones, Odesa media reports.

The fate of the monument will be finally decided at the meeting of the city council on November 30.

Odesa Mayor Gennadiy Trukhanov also reacted to the results of the vote on social media: "I am convinced that the results of free voting on the Socially Active Citizen platform will be taken into account by the city council deputies, who will make the final decision. Personally, I will vote "for" the dismantling of the monument and its transfer to the Park of the Imperial and Soviet Past, about the idea of which I talked about several months ago. In the near future, a final point will be made in this matter - within the framework of generally accepted democratic norms and current Ukrainian legislation."
