The US National Security Council at the White House is sure that North Korea is secretly helping Russia in the war with Ukraine and supplying the Russian army with shells. This opinion was expressed by John Kirby, the department's strategic communications coordinator, CNN reports.
"Our information indicates that North Korea is covertly supplying a significant number of artillery shells for Russia's war against Ukraine," Kirby said.
According to him, despite North Korea's public assurances that it does not provide military technical assistance to the Russian Armed Forces, shells and weapons were sent to Russia.
In turn, the DPRK tries to hide the supply of weapons to third countries as a secret and indicates the countries of the Middle East or North Africa as the final destination for the military cargo.
The White House emphasized that they will continue to monitor whether these cargoes reach Russia.
It should be noted that, according to CNN, official Pyongyang has not yet provided strong evidence of its non-involvement in the supply of weapons to the Russian Armed Forces for the war in Ukraine.
