Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, Dmytro Medvedev, said that Ukraine's de-occupation of its territories is a "direct reason" for Russia's use of nuclear weapons. Medvedev wrote about this in his Telegram.
"The well-known thesis of Western countries is: 'Russia cannot be allowed to win the war'. What does it really mean? Follow the simple formal logic. If it is not Russia that is winning, it is probably Ukraine. Ukraine's goal in the war is called the Kyiv regime - the return of all that previously belonged to it territories, that is, their rejection from Russia. This is a threat to the existence of our state and the disintegration of current Russia. Therefore, a direct reason for the application of Clause 19 of the Fundamentals of State Policy of the Russian Federation in the sphere of nuclear deterrence."
At the same time, the Russian politician quite seriously declares that in this way Ukraine is "planning a nuclear conflict": "What is this but a direct provocation of a world war with the use of nuclear weapons?"
According to Medvedev, Western countries are pushing the world towards a global war.
He also stated that "only the complete and final victory of Russia is a guarantee against a world conflict."
