President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskiy, commenting on information about Israel's transfer of intelligence on Iranian drones that the Russian Federation uses against Ukraine, said that the country is at the beginning of the path of cooperation with Israel.
"Everyone is confused by our relations (with Israel). Although they have become warmer recently. After the pause, we see steps forward," Zelenskiy said at a briefing with the president of Guinea-Bissau in Kyiv on Wednesday.
As the president noted, cooperation with Israel on providing data on Iranian drones "began a few days ago", however, Zelenskiy would not like to disclose the details of the information received.
"(Israeli) intelligence data confirm that our intelligence knew that Russia used more than 400 Iranian drones against Ukraine," he said.
"We are at the beginning of cooperation with Israel. And this is a positive track on the part of Israel. I am grateful for that," the president added.
At the same time, according to Zelenskiy, he is counting on a lot of support from the Israeli side.
"Israel knows what war is. We believe that Israel should support Ukraine more. We have been waiting for this since February 24. We see that the Israeli people support the Ukrainians, but we need the political leadership of Israel," he summarized.
