Supporters of territorial agreements with Russia can give their lands to Russia themselves, while Ukrainians are fighting for their country and all issues must be resolved through the Constitution. This position was expressed by the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov in an interview with Sky News.
Thus, the journalist voiced the alleged words of some European diplomats, which refer to a possible "agreement" with Russia, under which it will receive all the territories occupied until 2014 in exchange for Ukraine's membership in NATO. After that, Danilov's gaze "filled with anger" and the Secretary of the National Security Council declared that he did not know what relation "these people have to the independence of Ukraine."
"Let me remind you. At one time, a French figure (we are talking about the former president Nicolas Sarkozy) tried to negotiate with Russia regarding Georgia, Georgia lost part of its territories. After figures from France and Germany forced us to sign the Minsk agreements, (in 2014) we lost part of Donetsk and Luhansk regions," he said.
After that, Danilov emphasized that Ukrainians are fighting for their land, and all issues related to it should be resolved through Ukrainian laws and the Constitution.
"Let them (European leaders) give their land to Putin. I want to see how their community, their voters, their children will react," Danilov emphasized.
