The reason for the fall of the Su-34 fighter on a 9-story building in Yeysk, Russia, was the birds getting into the engine.
This is reported by the Russian publication TASS.
According to the publication's source in the law enforcement agencies, at the time of takeoff, two seagulls got into the plane's engine, which led to the accident.
"Their (seagulls, - ed.) remains were found by experts during the inspection of the wreckage of the plane," the source said.
The plane crashed on October 17, 15 people died as a result of the accident. The Russian Ministry of Defense said that the plane crashed during takeoff for a training flight. In total, during the 8 months of the full-scale invasion, Russia counted 11 non-combat aviation losses, the last of which was the crash of an Su-30 into a residential building in Irkutsk, which occurred on October 23.
