The former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, Linas Linkevičius, joked that if Russia itself already claims that it is fighting in Ukraine against all of NATO, then there is no problem with Ukraine joining the Alliance.
This is reported by "European Truth".
"Russia explains the failures at the front by the fact that it is not at war with Ukraine, but with NATO. This means that Russia already recognizes Ukraine as part of the Alliance. Therefore, it remains for NATO to come to terms with this," Linkevičius wrote on his Twitter.
Earlier, he called Putin's decision on partial mobilization a moment of choice for Russian society, and also noted that if Vladimir Putin has no way back, Russia as a country still has options.
We will remind you that Linas Linkevičius headed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania for 8 years - until the end of 2020, when he was replaced in this position by Gabrielus Landsbergis. He actively supported Ukraine during the Revolution of Dignity and after the beginning of Russian aggression in Crimea and Donbas.
He was also remembered for his decisive stance in support of the protests of the Belarusian people against the falsification of elections and his condemnation of the repressions of the Lukashenko regime, and he was among the first to start calling him the "former president".
