The European Commission explained what the head of diplomacy, Josep Borrell, meant in his statement about the West's response to a potential Russian nuclear attack on Ukraine. The press secretary of the EU foreign policy service, Nabila Massrali, said this at a briefing in Brussels on Wednesday.
"What the high representative said sounds very clear: in the event of a nuclear attack, there will be serious consequences. There is no doubt that Europe and its allies will have to react to the use of nuclear weapons. And these are not just words. Since the beginning of the illegal Russian aggression against Ukraine, the EU has unprecedented action to help Ukraine at all levels, including the military, to defend itself. And the EU will continue to support Ukraine," Massraly said, declining to give further details.
It will be recalled that the head of EU diplomacy, Josep Borrell, said the day before that the West's response to a potential nuclear attack on Ukraine will not be nuclear, but it will be very powerful from a military point of view, so the Russian army will be destroyed.
