The government of Ukraine asks citizens to limit electricity consumption from 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said.

"For the second day in a row, the terrorist country continues a massive attack on energy infrastructure facilities. Yesterday, 3,900 populated areas: cities, villages, and towns were cut off due to rocket fire. Already now, energy workers and rescuers managed to restore electricity in most regions. 3 8,000 settlements have received electricity, the electricity supply has been stabilized in the western regions, Kharkiv and Kharkiv region are almost completely consumed. Restoration work to ensure power supply to the central regions and Kyiv is ongoing. It is planned to be completed within a few days," Shmyhal wrote on the Telegram channel .

At the same time, the Prime Minister noted that Russia does not stop in its attempts to destroy the energy infrastructure of Ukraine.

"According to the State Emergency Service, 33 shellings have already been recorded this day. The enemy continues to spend dozens of rockets at the cost of hundreds of millions of dollars so that Ukrainians will be without electricity for a day or two. But we are united and we stand," he said.

Shmyhal said that on October 10, Ukrainians throughout the country, responding to the call, voluntarily reduced their electricity consumption by an average of 10%.

"Today we will also ask you to limit the consumption of electricity. Also, during peak hours - from 17:00 to 23:00, we ask you not to turn on energy-intensive appliances: electric stoves, electric kettles, electric tools, heaters and air conditioners, ovens and irons, microwave ovens, coffee makers. This is very important for stable operation of our energy system," the Prime Minister addressed.

Also, in connection with the need to restore damaged critical infrastructure, in some regions, according to him, a schedule of turning off electricity will be applied.

It is important to understand that such consumption restrictions are not related to a shortage of power in the power system, but solely to the need for restoration work. Currently, there is no need for either emergency aid from European countries or the import of electrical energy. We have such an opportunity if needed," concluded Shmyhal.
