Erdogan will meet with Putin on October 12 - mass media

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin on the sidelines of the regional summit in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan.

AFP writes about this with reference to information from Turkish officials.

Erdogan has yet to comment on the massive Russian strikes on the country on Monday, which killed at least 19 people and injured more than 100.

But Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu held a phone conversation with his Ukrainian counterpart Dmytro Kuleba after the attacks.

Erdogan met Putin on the sidelines of a regional summit in Uzbekistan last month.

He has repeatedly stated that he hopes to organize a meeting between Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy for negotiations. Zelenskiy recently signed a decree prohibiting any negotiations with the Russian president.
