German Defense Minister Christine Lambrecht said that Germany wants to hand over the first IRIS-T air defense system to Ukraine "in the next few days." Spiegel writes about it.
"Resumption of missile strikes on Kyiv and many other cities emphasizes how important it is to quickly provide Ukraine with air defense systems. Therefore, we are now providing special support with means to counter the threat from the air. In the next few days, the first of our four advanced IRIS-T systems will be ready to effectively defend Ukrainians," said Kristini Lambrecht.
She added that the delivery of the next three systems is planned for next year.
The head of the Foreign Ministry, Annalena Berbok, condemned the Russian missile strikes on Ukraine.
"Residents of Kyiv are in mortal danger during their morning commute. A rip-off is next to a children's playground. It is disgusting and unjustified that Putin is directing missiles at cities and civilians. We will do everything we can to quickly strengthen Ukraine's air defenses." - she wrote on her Twitter.
