The German government has approved the sale of 18 units of RCH-155 self-propelled artillery units to Ukraine. But delivery is possible no earlier than 2025. Welt am Sonntag writes about it.
According to the publication, the contract for the supply of 18 self-propelled artillery installations is worth 216 million euros.
Defense Ministers of Germany and Ukraine Kristini Lambrecht and Oleksiy Reznikov discussed the contract back in July. However, RCH-155 deliveries will take place no earlier than 30 months after the conclusion of the contract, that is, in 2025.
According to sources from the Ukrainian side, Kyiv raised the issue of purchasing the RCH-155 several times, but in recent weeks, Berlin did not give any answer.
According to Andrii Melnyk, the Ambassador of Ukraine to Germany, the RCH-155 will be an effective contribution to the strengthening of the Ukrainian army.
"I hope that the federal government will continue to consistently follow this path," Melnyk added.
