The State Duma of the Russian Federation called the security guarantee for Ukraine an "escalation".

The head of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs of the Russian Federation and the leader of the LDPR, Leonid Slutsky, called the recommendations on security guarantees published by the Office of the President of Ukraine an "escalation", and also threatened Ukraine's Western partners with a conflict with "nuclear Russia". This is reported by Regnum with reference to Slutsky's statement.

"All his points are aimed only at further escalation, not at solving the current situation. Basically, it is proposed to document the advancement of the military infrastructure of Western countries to the Russian borders, pumping (Ukraine) with Western weapons.

These are not security guarantees, this is a draft pact on the involvement of NATO countries and their allies in the conflict with Ukraine. The project is against Russia, against a nuclear state. I hope that all of Kyiv's Western partners are well aware of what they are being asked to sign up to." According to him, the draft of the "Kyiv Security Treaty" will strengthen the pressure for sanctions on the aggressor country.

He added that the recommendations on security guarantees "definitely do not conflict" with the goals of the war against Ukraine, the so-called "special operation" will be continued.

We will remind, on Tuesday, the head of the President's Office Andriy Yermak and the former Secretary General of NATO Anders Fogh Rasmussen presented recommendations on the "Kyiv Security Treaty" for the strategic partnership of Ukraine and the guarantor states.
