The IAEA should facilitate the de-occupation of the nuclear power plant. Returning the station to Ukrainian control will force Russia to stop playing a dangerous game. Spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Oleg Nikolenko stated this on Twitter.

"The only way to ensure the nuclear safety of the Zaporizhzhya power plant is its de-occupation, demilitarization and return to the control of Ukraine. All the efforts of the IAEA should be aimed at achieving this goal. The rest will not force Russia to stop its dangerous game," writes Nikolenko.

It will be recalled that IAEA Director General Raphael Grossi stated that the IAEA seeks to stop the shelling of the Zaporizhzhya NPP, the rest of the issues do not depend on the agency. "What we really need is for Ukraine and Russia to agree on a very simple principle: not to fire at the station," he said during a press conference in Vienna. He also noted that he has started consultations with the parties regarding the creation of a security zone in the area of the ZNPP - both with the Ukrainian and Russian sides.
