Germany refused to transfer Dingo armored vehicles to Ukraine at the beginning of the war and seems to have no intention of supplying them in the future, reports Bild.

Journalists learned about this from the documents of the Ministry of Defense of Germany. The country has more than 500 Dingo full protection vehicles at its disposal.

"Dingo vehicles are used for training and education, as well as in operations. A possible transfer was considered at an early stage of the war in Ukraine, but was rejected due to its own needs," the document says.

At the beginning of March, Ukraine already asked for Dingo armored personnel carriers and Fennek reconnaissance vehicles from the Bundeswehr's reserves, but was refused. A total of 700 machines of both types are in service with the Bundeswehr, but are not involved in any combat operations.

Andrii Melnyk, the dismissed ambassador of Ukraine to Germany, reacted to this information.

"I call on German Defense Minister Christine Lambert to abandon this blockade and deliver part of the available 500 Dingo vehicles to Ukraine in September," the note reads.

Melnyk claims that this would save many lives and would not be a "robbery" of the Bundeswehr.
