German Economy Minister Robert Habek said that he does not expect the launch of the Russian Nord Stream 1 gas pipeline in the near future.
According to Spiegel, he said this on TV.
In his opinion, we should prepare for the fact that the Russian Federation will no longer supply gas to Europe via the Nord Stream.
"Small volumes of gas are still coming through the gas transportation system of Ukraine, but the resumption of Nord Stream-1 is not the scenario I expect," said Robert Habek.
Currently, Germany receives the largest volumes of gas from Norway, the Netherlands and Belgium.
It will be recalled that Gazprom announced the indefinite closure of the Nord Stream gas pipeline to Germany, allegedly for technical reasons. The Federal Grid Agency and Siemens Energy, the German company involved in the work of the flow, said that these reasons were not a plausible reason to stop the pipeline.
On September 5, Gazprom announced that there is a threat of fire or explosion in the event of further operation of the only currently operational Nord Stream compressor station, Portova.
At the same time, Kremlin Speaker Dmytro Peskov directly said that problems with the supply of gas via the Nord Stream will persist until Western sanctions are lifted.
