The future prime minister of Great Britain, Liz Truss, has decided on candidates for key positions in her government.

This is reported by The Guardian.

Kwazi Kwarteng, Tras's closest ally in government, will become her finance minister and she is also expected to confirm the appointments of Suella Braverman as home secretary and James Cleverley as foreign secretary. The appointments mean that for the first time there will be no white men in four major government jobs.

Teresa Coffey, a long-time friend of Truss, is expected to become health minister. In addition, Ben Wallace, who has been dealing with military aid to Ukraine in recent months, has been asked to stay on as defense minister.

Sources close to Tras told the Guardian that her election rival Rishi Sunak will not be offered a government post, breaking the tradition of offering positions to a leadership contender. Sunak told the BBC on Monday that a government job was not something he was thinking about.

Senior Conservative Party members have warned that there is an urgent need to unite the party in the post-Boris Johnson era, although Truss appears to prefer loyalty. Truss received a smaller share of the vote than any previous Tory leader elected by members, and fewer supporters among MPs in the first rounds of the leadership race.

It will be recalled that British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, whose term of office is coming to an end, assured in his farewell speech that his successor Liz Truss will do everything possible to prevent Russia from succeeding in its energy blackmail.
