All member states of the European Union, except for Hungary, agreed to provide guarantees for another 5 billion euros of macro-financial assistance in the form of long-term loans for Ukraine. This was reported by Euractiv.
According to the publication's sources, the European Commission will make an official proposal on this matter next week, despite the Hungarian government's resistance.
It is expected that at the end of next week, the ministers of economy of the EU countries will sign a political declaration in support of the 5 billion euro tranche. The package can be officially adopted at the meeting of the EU Council, which will be held on September 20 in Brussels.
It should be noted that this tranche is part of the previously agreed aid of 9 billion euros, of which 1 billion has already been received by Ukraine.
